Union had sued over transformation plan that calls for teachers to re-apply for jobs

From The Cleveland Plain Dealer: The Cleveland school district and its teachers union will let an arbitrator decide whether more than 600 teachers have to vacate their schools and reapply for positions with the system. After district and union officials agreed to take the question to binding arbitration, a judge dismissed a lawsuit and request for a restraining order that the teachers had filed.

Earlier...from The Cleveland Plain Dealer: The Cleveland Teachers Union has sued the school district, seeking to halt a plan that will require hundreds of teachers to reapply for jobs with the district. The lawsuit seeks to stop Chief Executive Officer Eugene Sanders from removing teachers at 14 elementary schools and eight high schools and forcing them to reapply for positions. Teachers who don't reapply will remain with the district but will lose a chance to try for specific positions.
