Cleveland sues to recover funds from former administrator

Lawsuit says former chief operating officer Daniel Burns carried out a purchasing scam
FromThe Cleveland Plain Dealer: The Cleveland school district has sued former Chief Operating Officer Daniel Burns and a Toledo businessman; it is trying to recover money that prosecutors say the two stole in a purchasing scam. The suit seeks more than $160,000 paid for printing equipment and consulting services the district never received. Prosecutors say the six printing machines were never even manufactured. School officials also are asking for damages, bringing the total to $480,600.
