New Jersey superintendent admits to stealing district funds

The superintendent of Cliffside Park, N.J., schools has pleaded guilty to spending more than $26,000 on unauthorized "business" meals, and helping funnel school funds to two borough clerks. Robert Paladino, 59, of Teaneck has resigned his post and entered guilty pleas to theft and conspiracy charges. Paladino served as both the district superintendent and business administrator. He received a salary of about $190,000 for his combined positions.
