From The Atlanta Journal Constitution: The Cobb County (Ga.) school board has approved a preliminary budget that cuts 734 positions -- including 579 teachers. The $819.4 million spending plan furloughs teachers five days, increases class sizes to maximum levels and cuts the school year by five days.
