Technological enhancements, more personnel make students safer

From The Detroit Free Press: Efforts to boost college campus safety have led to mass alert systems, stepped-up police retraining and emergency preparedness plans. Colleges also have retooled how they keep students safe day to day. They’ve beefed up police forces and mounted surveillance cameras that can pan an entire campus. They’ve installed doors that require key card entrance and have regularly updated maps to tell students where on campus crime has occurred.
