Web sites selling phony academic documents are a moving target

Kansas State University officials recently issued a cease-and-desist letter to a Web site that was selling phony K-State diplomas and transcripts for $249.99. The American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions in Washington acknowledges that it is a constant battle to combat Internet sites that sell fake diplomas. College officials are concerned the phony documents will hurt their schools’ image and provoke academic fraud.
