Colorado gets its first hybrid school bus

Vehicle transports students in the Adams 12 Five Star district

The maiden voyage ofColorado's first hybrid school bus received rave reviews from students from Hillcrest Elementary in Northglenn. Adams 12 Five Star School District officials say the vehicle uses both diesel and electric power. It cuts diesel fuel consumption by 70 percent and reduces carbon dioxide emissions by 40 percent.
