Cornell University alumnus donates $11 million for telescope center in Chile

From The Boston Globe: A retired auto parts businessman who graduated from Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y., is donating $11 million to help build a telescope center in Chile. The gift from 1966 alumnus Frederick Young will go toward designing and building the Cerro Chajnantor Atacama Telescope in the high Andes of northern Chile. Cornell's partners in the telescope project include the California Institute of Technology and the University of Colorado.
