The shuttered Holy Redeemer High School in Detroit will reopen in fall 2008 as a member of the Cristo Rey Network with a new name, curriculum and focus on partnerships with businesses and the community. Detroit Cristo Rey High School will start with more than 100 ninth-graders and will target lower-income families who want their children to attend parochial school. Students will be required to work one day a week, with their wages going toward their $2,200 annual tuition.
