From The Dallas Morning News: Dallas school board members are split over a proposal to allow high-level administrators to live outside the school district. The existing policy requires employees at the executive director level and above to be "bona fide residents" of the Dallas district. Bona fide residence is described as the employee's "true, fixed home and domicile" as evidenced by a utility bill, driver's license, IRS tax statement, voter registration card or deed or lease agreement. The proposed change, which is scheduled for vote later this month, would still require the superintendent to live within the district's boundaries. However, it would allow trustees to adjust the superintendent's contract to permit otherwise.
