Deferred maintenance adds up at Indiana University

June 14, 2010
Officials says the university needs an additional $17 million a year to keep up with repairs

From The Times of Northwest Indiana: Indiana University officials say the institution is falling about $17 million short of what it needs to spend each year to maintain its buildings and facilities. Vice President for Capital Projects and Facilities Tom Morrison says the funding gap is forcing the university to pay for emergencies such as leaking roofs and that repairs are more extensive and costly because maintenance has been delayed.
