Demolition of elementary school in Tacoma begins soon

62-year-old Geiger Elementary building will be replaced

From The Tacoma News-Tribune: Demolition of Geiger Elementary School in Tacoma, Wash., is scheduled to begin soon as contractors prepare to build a new school. A crew is removing hazardous materials and completing other work in preparation for the demolition. To accommodate the construction, Geiger students will attend class in the former Hunt Middle School building. The total cost for the latest Geiger project is an estimated $26 million.
