Departing leader of Detroit school district has cancer

Robert Bobb was diagnosed last year with stage 4 tongue cancer

From The Detroit Free Press: Robert Bobb, nearing the end of his tenure as the emergency financial manager of Detroit Public Schools, has revealed that he is being treated for Stage 4 tongue cancer. Doctors diagnosed the illness in April 2010; The cancer has spread to the lymph nodes in his neck, but after two surgeries, chemotherapy and radiation, Bobb says his prognosis is "very good."
