Judge says Detroit schools’ emergency financial manager must stay out of academic affairs

From The Detroit News: After ruling eight weeks ago that Detroit School District Emergency Financial Manager Robert Bobb must cede academic control to the school board, Judge Wendy Baxter has ordered Bobb to stop interfering with academic matters entirely. Baxter affirmed her initial decision that the board controls curriculum while Bobb controls the budget. Baxter told both sides that Public Act 72, which outlines the authority of an emergency financial manager, deals only with fiscal and financial responsibilities — not educational ones.
