Robert Bobb asks Michigan lawmakers to extend his authority beyond just finances
From The Detroit Free Press: Detroit schools Emergency Financial Manager Robert Bobb is urging state lawmakers to extend his authority to include oversight of the troubled district's academics. Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm says she supports giving Bobb authority over Detroit Public Schools' academic programs. Bobb has tried to wrest control of the schools' academic programs, but was sued in court by the Detroit school board.
