From The Detroit Free Press: After nearly a century of middle and junior high schools, the Detroit district should eliminate middle schools and switch back to K-8 buildings, Emergency Financial Manager Robert Bobb says. Detroit's Chief Academic and Accountability Auditor Barbara
Byrd-Bennett is expected to lead the change. When she was
superintendent in Cleveland, she converted elementary and middle
schools as part of her strategy to improve academic achievement and
graduation rates.
