Detroit looks to close 18 schools

Struggling district has closed more than 60 buildings since 2005.
Detroit Public Schools is moving ahead on plans to close 18 schools this summer, a decision that could leave more than 80 district-owned buildings vacant in the city. Teachers have been told that 52 schools still are being considered for closure, though no names were released.To read The Detroit Free Press article, click here.
