High-tech security systems deter thefts, vandalism in Detroit

From The Detroit News: Detroit Public Schools officials are using high-tech security cameras, motion detectors and silent alarms to reduce theft and vandalism in dozens of buildings. On Sunday, district police surprised three teenagers -- ages 13 to 15 -- in a second-floor hallway at Cooley High School. Motion detectors alerted police that someone had broken into the school, which was closed for the weekend.
