Detroit to overhaul 5 failing schools

Teachers, administrators and staff will be removed

Detroit officials plan to drastically reconfigure five schools and remove all the teachers, administrators and staff. The reforms, a precursor to more changes in the district, are the first phase of what is being called the Turn Around School plan. Each of the high school campuses affected -- Osborn, Henry Ford and Cody, as well as the Cody ninth grade academy -- will be split into three to four new, independent specialized schools.
