Detroit manager says district deficit may be worse than $259 million

From The Detroit Free Press: Robert Bobb, emergency financial manager of the Detroit school system, says the district may be in more debt than the projected $259 million deficit. Bobb's statement to the school board about the budget came after months of little communication with the board. Board members drilled Bobb on the state's culpability for the district's financial crisis, which worsened during the 1999-2005 state takeover of the school system.
