Detroit school district has reduced deficit by $87 million

From The Detroit News: The Detroit school district has whittled its deficit down by nearly $87 million and has resolved the majority of financial reporting issues that have historically plagued the district, according to an audit report. The district's deficit was previously estimated at $305.9 million on June 30, but a recent financial audit to determine the actual accumulated deficit found the district's deficit is $219 million.
