From The Detroit News: Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox wants a judge to stop the Detroit school board from appointing a treasurer. At a meeting earlier this week, the school board named Walter Esaw, former
board treasurer and district budget director, to serve as an unpaid
treasurer to the board. Cox contends that the appointment "was
in blatant disregard" of Michigan law, which gives authority to Robert
Bobb as the district's emergency financial manager.
