Detroit district boosts police presence at five high schools

Full-time police officers with the Detroit school district will be redeployed from normal duties to mini-stations at five high schools beginning this fall. The move addresses parent concerns that district realignment could cause "turf issues" among students formerly at rival schools. The cost of changes was not immediately available.
