Guadalupe (Calif.) district expects enrollment spike from new housing development

The Guadalupe (Calif.) Union School District is planning to build a middle school, the first new campus in the district in more than 40 years. The proposed school is in response to a planned 980-unit housing development that is projected to create an influx of 740 students to the district. The system has an enrollment of about 1,100 students, many of whom are housed in bungalows and other types of portable classrooms. The architect is Phillips Metsch Sweeney Moore.
