Arizona committee is studying school district unification and consolidation

From The Arizona Republic: Unifying elementary and secondary school districts can be complicated by significant logistical hurdles, administrators told an Arizona legislative committee studying the issue. Some potential obstacles include aligning different salary schedules, figuring out property-tax rates and deciding which administrators stay and which go. Handling the politics involving several school boards also poses a big problem. The state's Joint Legislative Study Committee on School District Unification and Consolidation has been given the task of developing recommendations for school systems to consider.
