From The Sacramento Bee: Drexel University has informed government officials in Placer County, Calif., that it is backing away from efforts to build an undergraduate campus there. The Philadelphia-based school's plan, conceived in 2007, was to utilize land being donated by developer Angelo Tsakopoulos.
FROM JUNE 2008: Drexel University, a 117-year-old private school in Philadelphia, has begun recruiting students for a new Sacramento, Calif., campus that will open in January. Drexel is introducing itself to Sacramento with a program geared for working adults who seek master's degrees. The graduate program – run out of an office building on Capitol Mall – is the first sign of what could be the university's growing presence in the region. (The Sacramento Bee)
