Middle school in Durham, N.C., extends day for 6th graders

From The Raleigh News & Observer: A low-performing middle school in Durham, N.C., will extend sixth-graders' school day by about three hours. Neal Middle School sixth-graders will be in school until from 7:20 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays. The school is partnering with Citizen Schools, a national nonprofit program that provides academic support to students.
