East Greenwich, R.I., plans for new middle school

Jul 15, 2008 1:57 PM

In anticipation of a bond election later this year, East Greenwich (R.I.) school officials are putting together plans for a facility to replace the aging Archie Cole Middle School. The new three-story facility would house grades 6 to 8; the existing school houses only grades 7 and 8. The proposed $39.5 million project would rise on the site of the existing school. If voters approve a bond package, the new middle school could be built in time to open in the fall of 2011. The architect is Symmes Maine & McKee Associates.
