Students can stay at Orlando high school during renovation

Orange County (Fla.) Superintendent Ron Blocker is backing away from a contentious plan that would have moved students from Edgewater High in Orlando to a different campus during its renovation. Blocker says transferring Edgewater students to Evans High School during construction didn't make financial sense. For slightly less, students can remain on-site while the district renovates the 1950s-era school. The school system also plans to acquire a nearby shopping center and mobile-home park to give the campus some breathing room.
