Chicago administrator gets 4 years for embezzlement

A former Chicago Public Schools finance manager has been sentenced to 4 years in state prison for stealing more than $450,000 from internal accounts at a Simeon Career Academy High School. Marilyn Jenkins-Evans, 50, wrote herself 319 checks from 1999 through 2005 totaling more than $456,000 from an internal Simeon account. The account came from fees paid by parents for graduation, pictures and other fees. Jenkins-Evans has paid back about $78,000 to Simeon.
