Expansion underway at Texas high school

Conroe facility will get new science wing, fine arts center.

At Conroe (Texas) High School, a $15.3 million project is underway to give students more room.
The project will add a 63,000-square foot science wing and an 18,000-square foot fine Arts center, and renovate a 30,000-square foot athletics area. The school has six science classrooms, but those classrooms no longer meet new size specifications. The state now requires sciences classrooms to be 1,400 square feet. In addition to the new science wing, the walls of existing classrooms will be moved to make those rooms the required size as well.
