Florida A&M may lose accreditation

Florida A&M University, the state's only historically black public college, is in danger of losing its accreditation following a review that noted 10 serious deficiencies in management, finances and control of resources. The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, which accredits all Florida universities, has placed FAMU on six months' probation pending further review of the continuing problems at the Tallahassee school.
