Uncertain funding future leads districts to back away from the ballot box

From The Columbus Dispatch: With the level of future funding uncertain, fewer school districts in Ohio are expected to ask voters to approve bond issues, which are required to receive state money from the Ohio School Facilities Commission. Districts also must have money to operate and maintain new schools. And, even if districts could persuade voters to come up with their local share, only $525 million in state construction cash was available this fiscal year, a big drop from the $900 million to $1 billion of previous years.
