Finlandia University takes over former middle school building in Hancock, Mich.

From The Detroit Free Press: A deal hatched by two administrators over lunch will give Finlandia University, a private school in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, space to grow while more local youths get an opportunity for higher education. Finlandia will receive a classroom building no longer needed by the public schools in Hancock, a former mining town of 4,900, plus a nearby athletic field. In exchange, for at least the next 12 years, graduates of Hancock Central High who qualify for admission to Finlandia will get free tuition.
