Florida districts accused of punishing African-American students disproportionately

From The Pensacola News-Journal: Five county school districts in Florida have been accused of subjecting African-American students to harsher discipline than white students. In a complaint filed with the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights, the Southern Poverty Law Center contends that African-American students are disproportionately suspended, expelled and arrested for relatively minor and non-violent conduct. The complaint targets districts in Bay, Escambia, Flagler, Okaloosa and Suwanee counties.
