Florida school construction funds bypass traditional K-12 schools

From The St. Petersburg Times: Florida's primary fund to help schools pay for construction, the Public Education Capital Outlay, dropped from $254.2 million last year to just $51.3 million in the 2011-12 school year. Legislators found enough money to raise the amount to $77 million, but they have decided that traditional K-12 public schools won't get any of it. Instead, it will go to charter schools, colleges and universities.
