Florida districts team up to bolster hurricane insurance coverage

Districts opt for pool coverage to provide better financial protection.

Getting enough insurance to cover damage to schools after a hurricane is nearly impossible--especially in Florida, where storms hit so hard in 2004 and 2005. So Lake County School officials have joined a pool of school districts in Central Florida for what they hope is better property insurance should a hurricane strike.
