Four-day weeks in Florida would save less than expected

From The Tampa Bay Times: School systems in Florida pondering a move to four-day weeks look to transportation savings as a key rationale for the move. By taking school buses off the road one day a week, the district would save money on bus driver pay and fuel costs. But it turns out they won't get to pocket much of the savings. Officials in Marion County have learned that their plan for a four-day week also would bring a 20 percent cut in state transportation funding.
