District leaders fear law's provisions will lead to costly lawsuits

From The Orlando Sentinel: Many school district leaders in Florida say they have no interest in using provisions of a new law to allow students to give "inspirational messages" — including prayers — at school functions. School board presidents say that new rules stemming from the law would open districts up to costly legal suits. Opponents of the new law, including the American Civil Liberties Union, have threatened to challenge the constitutionality of any district policy based on the law. Florida School Boards Association Executive Director Wayne Blanton also has warned that districts that pursue policies based on the law are likely to face lengthy litigation.
