Construction costs ease

School administrators across Central Florida are pleasantly surprised to find that prices for new schools and renovations to older ones are starting to level off and even drop. In Seminole County, an expansion and renovation project at Forest City Elementary cost $11.5 million in November 2005. Earlier this year, the same prototype addition at Lake Orienta Elementary went for $8.7 million, and there were a lot more bidders for the job.
