Former home for abused children will be converted to charter school

Irvington Preparatory Academy will open later this year in Indianapolis

From The Indianapolis Star: The former Children's Guardian Home, a two-story, 85,000-square-foot building in Indianapolis, this fall will house the Irvington Preparatory Academy, a charter high school. Built in 1917, the home housed abused or neglected children until it was closed a year ago. The charter school is leasing the building from the city for $1 a year.
