Steve Barr plans to build a new national charter group

From The New York Times: The founder of Green Dot, the charter schools group based in Los Angeles, is leaving to build a new national charter group. Although Steve Barr is departing, the Green Dot organization will continue under the leaders who have replaced Barr to run its network of 16 charter schools in Los Angeles. Barr’s exit left somewhat unclear the status of the Green Dot New York Charter School, which he helped organize in the Bronx in 2007 as a collaboration with the United Federation of Teachers.
