Catholic school to close as New York City neighborhood goes upscale

As New York City's East Harlem neighborhood becomes more gentrified, St. Francis de Sales School will close in June, and about 200 elementary school students will have to find a new school. Officials at the Archdiocese of New York, as well as other parents and clergy familiar with recent events, say they expect that the school will reopen in a year, possibly as a more expensive private academy or preschool.
