Free rides for college coaches in Michigan

More than 4 of 10 coaches and athletic administrators at the state's public universities are provided with a free car.

At Michigan's cash-strapped public universities, more than 4 out of 10 coaches and athletic administrators receive a perk that is vanishing for other state employees -- a free car. At the eight public universities in Michigan that offer the perk, 250 of 593 coaches and administrators were furnished either a car or a vehicle allowance worth a cumulative $1.4 million a year this past school year
