Full-day kindergarten approved in Tacoma

The Tacoma (Wash.) School Board has approved a plan to offer free
all-day kindergarten at every public school in the city. Officials say it will
cost around $3 million in added teachers’ salaries, learning materials,
training and facilities changes during the next school year.
