District had tests conducted after unsafe conditions were found at 3 other stadiums

From The Gaston Gazette: The football stadiums at four Gaston County (N.C.) high schools have some problems but aren’t unsafe, an engineering firm says. In earlier inspections, the firm, Sutton-Kennerly & Associates, had discovered unsafe bleacher conditions at South Point, Cherryville and East Gaston high school stadiums. The most recent stadium reports show that less expensive renovations are needed at Ashbrook, Bessemer City, Forestview and Highland School of Technology.

Earlier... From The Gaston Gazette: South Point High School in Belmont, N.C.,has moved its graduation ceremony because of unsafe conditions at its football stadium. An engineering firm determined that bleachers on both the home and visitors' side of the stadium are structurally unsound. Repairs could cost more than $500,000. South Point now is scheduled to hold graduation on June 8 at Forestview High in Gastonia.
