Wisconsin district eliminates full-day kindergarten

TheGermantown (Wis.) School Board has voted to eliminate full-day kindergarten in 2009-10. The district has enough space for only about 150 full-day kindergarten students. A lottery has been used to select which students can attend the full-day program, but board members say the lottery leaves too many families left out and unhappy. But full-day kindergarten could resume if voters approve a referendum to build a new school. The district is considering whether to place a bond request on the November ballot.
