Voters in New York district reject bond package

Voters in theGlen Cove (N.Y.) district have defeated a bond referendum that would have provided the district with $13.9 million to make repairs at its six schools and two administrative buildings. The improvements, recommended by a board-appointed advisory panel, ranged from new roofs and floors to bathrooms and boilers, lockers and security cameras. For months, district officials had stressed the need to repair the infrastructure that had deteriorated after years of inadequate funding. To read the Newsday article, click here.
