Groton, Mass., plans to close elementary

Despite bitter opposition from many parents, Groton (Mass.) school officials are moving ahead with closing the Colonel William Prescott Elementary School. They say the step is needed to help bridge an estimated $583,808 spending gap the district is facing next fiscal year.
