Gwinnett County, Ga., voters have overwhelmingly approved a $750 million bond referendum to build more schools. About 73 percent of voters supported the request. The state's largest school district will build eight schools and additions at 10 existing campuses. The schools are scheduled to open in 2010 and 2011. The district also will upgrade technology and buy land for future campuses.

Earlier: Voters in Gwinnett County, Ga., will go to the polls Feb. 5 to decide the fate of a $750 million bond proposal. The bonds would enable the district, the largest in Georgia, to keep pace with its growth. It would provide money to build eight new schools and additions at 10 others--a total of 520 new classrooms.
